FAQ
A typical method for managing a long list of tasks or actions is to mark key items as priorities. This is helpful as it identifies what is important. But setting prioriities is not always so straight forward. Do you set levels of priorities? Do you sequence which priority gets done first? And priorities tell you nothing about the action itself.
A less stressful method is to catagorize the actions. For example a high priority item is likely something you want to get done immediately (an immediate priority). A phone call could be a priority but by markring it as communication it says more about it. One, probably something that can be done quickly and two likely to get done today.
Everyday Track works by grouping actions together under Types of activity. The built in Group "Everyday" has 4 Types of actions that illustrate this: Communication, Immediate, Monitor, and Work It.
Communication can be a phone call, email, text or face to face.
Immediate
Monitor simply reminds you that you are looking out for some action owed to you. This could be for example a response or a promised delivery.
Work It are actions you would like to put some effort into if you can fit it in. This can be an ongoing action that may take a few days to complete.
With the enhanced features you have the option to create your own Group and Types. This allows you to say keep one group for work and another for home. Or the manager that wants to keep a group just for tracking actions on a specitic project. Another example would be to plan a vacation.
The base app has a "follow up" feature that when set provide a mechanism to complete an action and autogenerate a follow up action. For example you can track when you lent someone a tool and then a follow up Monitor action with the due date set to when you expect it back. All completed actions are stored. These can then be retrieved at any time via search or listing all completed actions. And the All Notes feature will gather these related actions in one place.
There is the ability to repeat actions on a recurring basis and includes detailed selections. An example of detailed recurrence would be every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday every 3rd week.
Date filtering provides quick mechanism for looking at tomorrow, go out a week, a month or a custom range of dates.
Everyday track will not modify your calendar events. But it will provide a quick view so as you plan your day you can see your appointments and meetings. The calendar view aligns with the date ranges. So if you are looking at a weeks worth of actions then you will see a weeks worth of calendar events.
The default type is what will show up as the default on the action detail screen. If a default is not selected the default type will be the last type on the type list.
Go to the slide menu, select "Type Edit" ... then when you tap a device a checkmark will appear denoting it as the default type.
Also when using the exclusive button the type selected becomes default.
This can happen if when the app is run on a second device prior to that device being synced. For example if the app was first opened on a second device with no wifi and actions were entered. This issue can be resolved by tapping "Sync Everyday" in the side menu. It can also be resolved by restarting the app.
You can avoid this issue if when loading on a second device you wait until the iCloud sync is completed before entering any new actions.
